    “An Immense World” is an awesome book that I could hardly put down. Besides being deep and strong in its science, it is a compelling read that pulls you in and will not let you go – a credit to Yong’s skill as a writer. Many times on each page you are likely to think “Wow, I never knew that!” Methodically progressing through each of the senses, which include not only our human senses but also various creatures’ ability to perceive additional stimuli such as electric and magnetic fields, he describes the processes as best he can, and then endeavors to place himself (and his readers) “in the heads” of many species to try to imagine what they are feeling or experiencing.
