The Canon XSi is still an excellent camera, especially for someone getting into DSLR photography. It is easy to use and takes wonderful pictures. Plus there are many lenses that can be used with it. I highly recommend this camera to novice and pro alike.

I gave this item a 3 is because I was misinformed about the cosmetic appearance of this camera it advertised open box never used when I received it the camera body had scratches and the plastic was discolored. But the camera operates as it should and the pictures are quite good. I decided to just keep it regardless. I was just disappointed with the appearance of the camera. I has several cameras I purchased on EB and they are all second hand but in new condition and 4 are canon plus this. I should have looked at the photos more closely.

I just upgraded from my beloved Canon Rebel XT. The XSI gives you a larger LCD, upgraded Cmos III processor, better focus system, 12.1 MP's. It still has the nice Canon menu I am used to. The only other thing , if you need higher ISO, XSI only goes to 1600, so if you do a lot of indoor shooting without a flash, and are experienced, you might need it, other than that I love this camera. It takes great pictures, the LCD is unreal vs the old XT. You can get some great buy;s on this camera, since Canon now has the T1i and T2i, I don't need the added video. This is a easy, great picture taking camera. Canon also has tons of lens out there.
I used to use an SLR many years ago and got away from it for convenience, then they came out with digital cameras. I wanted to get back to the SLR but they are expensive so I opted for a Sony Super Zoom which is a great camera but it just wasn't enough for me for all the things I wanted. I purchased this camera and it is about 2.5 years old and is in fantastic condition. It came with a 75-300 zoom lens and it is great along with having the image stabilizer. It captures the shot in action, unlike standard digital cameras. Images are crisp. I was always a Canon user before and have no regrets purchasing this Canon. Easy to use and the same great quality as Canon always has in their cameras. I bought it primarily for photos of my son in sports and it has been worth it. The lens are easy to change out as well. Great quality pics!Read full review
The Cannon EOS Rebel XSI IS a upgrade from my Rebel G SLR camera and Rebel EOS camera I still own. I have had good luck with Cannon Camera's that I have owned from early 1980's.My first cannon was a second hand one that got stolen from my friends truck. I bought one to replace that one and that was damage from hurricane Andrew back in August of 1992. I bought the Rebel G and have use it and have not had any complaints. Then I got a Rebel Eos from a pawn shop that was a good buy and looked good also worked great. The new digital camera now gives you that picture instantly where you use to have to buy rolls of film, then load take picture s then take roll of film to have developed. Pro's,The price was right for me. The picture quality is great with the 12.1 megapixel and all the added features makes it a great camera. Having a rechargeable battery is great also which lasts a good amount of picture taking even using flash. Software for computer is easy to use. The lens kit is great , the lens works great with the imagine stabilization. The only con is getting use to not putting hands or fingers on led screen, other then that I am real happy and satisfied with my digital camera that I have purchased. I would recommend the camera to any one who would want to buy a new camera.Read full review
