    I suspect it's a bootleg, but sealed like a retail disc set. The discs appear to be DVD-Rs though everything was of decent quality. The picture and sound is above VHS but not quite that of most DVDs. It's a great mini-series and someone should acquire the rights and make multiple movies. NETFLIX? The price was right, so I am happy with my purchase.

    At first I thought this was a bad copy of the Mini Series, the picture was not really clear, I started the DVD over and a message came up, the original copy was damaged from being improperly stored after being shown in 1983. The picture cleared up shortly & there was only one other space for several seconds where was no sound toward the middle of the series. other than that, no other problems with the DVD. I would buy from themooviebarn again. 5 star rating all the way. Great series

    Great movie, but not best sound quality

    I love this movie, and coincidentilly I wanted this movie because I love the story and actors. Coincidentally, my brother-in-law's sister is an extra in the movie. But the quality was not the best. I could hear what I needed to hear, but the sound was at times like listening through a tin can. I think this was copied from a vhs tape...that's what it sounded like. But, because it was so difficult to find this movie again, I am okay with keeping it. But I am happy that you offered it, and everything was very good as far as the time it took to receive it and all, so I will give you 4 stars. Thanks

    Great mini series but...

    I remembered watching this and enjoying it back in 1983 so wanted to see it again and had looked for it for years. Was excited to see it available on dvd and bought it. Turns out the reason this had never been available was that there had been damage to the soundtrack and that fact is even mentioned on disc 2. Sound is often muddled and actually no sound for a minute or two. Video quality isn't great, but watchable - maybe 7 out of 10. I'd advise to just watch on YouTube rather than buy.

    Satisfactory Copy of a Hard to Find Video

    The video is a bit grainy so it appears the DVD was created from a VHS tape. I could be wrong but that's how it appears to me. But the DVD plays fine. I don't know if the studio ever created DVDs of this program which would explain why it was made from a video tape. This is hard to find and it's not streaming or playing on TV anywhere. I've been looking for a long while and this is a satisfactory copy. I'm glad to have found a copy to watch.

    GREAT MINI SERIES

    Keep in mind this movie was never commercially released on DVD and the copy is from an analog master. Although the resolution is low the movie is the best of what is out there. This is a hard to find copy. You can find it on the web and download it there but the resolution is very bad. This is not bad. The story line is good, and the characters are believable such as Billy Dee Williams, Charlton Heston, Wayne Rogers and Paul Sorvino. Worth the purchase!!

    Deep south serial killer

    The series is based on 3 police chiefs starting around the 1920's and goes to about the 1960's and the hunt to find a serial killer in their midst. Keith Carradine always a great performer does not disappoint. Racial tensions and abuse intertwine throughout the story. I only wish when they put it on DVD they would have made it clearer. It would have been more enjoyable.
