About this product

Product Information

Henry Stauf was a homeless man; a drifter who went from town to town stealing money and mugging old ladies. He didn't want to do this but he had to -- he was homeless and had no means of getting by. That is, until a dream and a vision came to him in his sleep. He dreamed of a marvelous toy that all the kids would love. Stauf crafted the toy, sold it, and began to make quite a reputation for himself. He then dreamt of a doll and it was even more popular than his last toy. But every child who had a Stauf toy began to die and the toymaker secluded himself in his brand new mansion. One night, he invited 6 of his associates to dinner and join him in a conversation about his toys...but no one ever came out of the house alive. And then there were rumors of a 7th guest -- and it is now up to you to find out what took place that one dreadful evening and take a look into Stauf's life.

The 7th Guest combines the puzzle genre with a mystery storyline filled with murder, intrigue and deceit. There's also a hint of exploration. Played from a first person perspective, you'll have to venture into the 22 rooms of the Stauf mansion and solve over 20 unique brainteasers in order to unlock the events of the past.

  • The 7th Guest PC Game made for Windows '95

Any fans of puzzles, murder, mysteries, and horror will absolutely love this classic from both Virgin Games (Interactive) and Trilobyte Inc. The game involves 8 Primary Characters. The main protagonist and villain of the game is Henry Stauf: a poor beggar that comes across different visions that make people happy. Many of them are either puzzle toys or dolls that everyone including children love. However, soon afterwords, some of the children start to die from a strange illness. The last vision that Stauf sees is a Mansion filled with strange things in the building. Now enters the other main characters of the game. The first 6 guests are invited to stay at Stauf's mansion for one night. To sweeten the deal, he also offers that those who come and is the first to solve Stauf's ...

  • The 7th Guest-Vintage PC game

Hello readers, The purchase of this game came about at least one year of drilling my memory, what was that interactive puzzle PC game I played back in 1994? Once I finally realized that I could just type "Vintage PC games" in the ebaY search engine, well, I was in instant nerd heaven. The 7th Guest did not fail my reinvested interest once installed, but brought back challenging frustration I had long forgot. You (7th guest) go into various rooms in this haunted house and solve puzzles which once solved gains you access to additional rooms previuosly locked. I have appreciation for the PC games of the past primarily because they are easier to play, the pace is comforting, casual, unlike the fast role playing games of today. Moderate concetration is a must for The 7th Guest, no killing ...

  • I wish they still made games this good!

When this game was a "new release", my neighbor and I played through it and really enjoyed it! A little while ago I decided I wanted to relive those fading memories and play through it again. This is still one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played! It's getting more and more difficult to get it to run on a modern PC, however. Luckily my 8-year-old tower running Windows XP was able to run the game very well with the use of DOSBOX. I've read if your computer uses a multi-core processor you might be out of luck running these older games, even in DOSBOX. Long story short, just a challenging, fun, exciting, and over-all fantastic game! It may take some extra work on your part to get it to run but you will be happy once you do!

  • Feeling... Loooonely?

After a maniac builds a mansion with the blood of young girls, six guests are invited to compete amongst one another to find the seventh guest, and the guest who does will be granted their greatest desire. You wake up in the same mansion but it's currently empty as you make your way to the entrance to be greeted by each of their ghosts. Complete puzzles and solve riddles as you make your way up the stairs, down the halls, through mazes in dungeons and other secret passages. Find out what happened to the guests before they met their demise, or better yet the location of the seventh and you uncover the mansions insanity cultivated by the owner himself. If you're a fan of the Myst point-&-click adventures, then you'll definitely enjoy this masterpiece.
