"The future of the human race" in the subtitle is truly the subject.

The author is a master writer in both the non-science and science parts of the book. It reads like a detective story, and is up to date with developments into 2021. If, like me, you don't have a strong background in current biology and coding, understanding that information may be a stretch for you, but it's absolutely worth working through.

    • Good depth, clear understanding and pace.

This book describes Doudna's contributions to the gene deiting CRSPR that was developed in her Berkeley lab, Harvard and all the people who made contributions to this ground-breaking technology. There is also an excellent discussion of the risks and moral issues associated with this approach. His writing is clear and compelling and I got cought up with the race to the finish line, patent filing, etc.

    • Great detective story--the game's afoot!

Fascinating reading. The mind is unbelievable, a universe in itself. So glad this was put out for the rest of us to help understand ourselves. What will the next great breakthrough be? Can't wait to find out!
