    This board saves power and money

    For those looking to build an essential home desktop computer it is easy to recommend the MSI 970A-G43 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard. This thing is very basic, but for for the price it is hard to beat. It's hard to say what this board does super well, but at the same time it isn't going to fail you in any major ways. It functions both in lower powered units meant for tasked computing as well as high powered gaming. With MSI's ecologically minded power saving BIOS this setup could potentially save you money on your power bill if coming from a more demanding module. Raid compatibility did seem to run into trouble on PSUs running under 850v out, but functions well enough when assigning your raid drives through your OS as opposed to the provided BIOS.     well it seems to run the same as the one i replaced but there two extra slots of ram i can add and it has am3+ which mine doesnt have so i can up grade it. the only thing that was bad about it was that the pci-e had the part where you clamp it down was busted , other then that its good.

    The motherboard works great but...

    The motherboard arrived well packed and undamaged. I just wish it came with the I/O plate. The same model motherboard that I replaced with this one, was just a little different (go figure) as it had S/PDIF port and all the other I/O ports didn't line up. Thank you, Mark

    Cheap, great, but don't screw around too much.

    A fairly cheap board with decent features and all the slots I needed. The "Green Power" option in Control Center allows you to adjust how fast the fans will go depending on the temperatures, which is nice. I've clocked a FX-4300 to 4.8ghz, but run into temperature issues after that. Downside to the board is that it seems the sys fan connectors short out. My first board went completely dead when I used a couple of splitters to add extra fans, and the 2nd one (Bought used) had one connector that was dead when I got it. So it seems a fairly common issue.

    Easy to install, graphics card was a tight fit but pretty good

    Installed M/b and new cpu and ram. It works good but I don't think it boots any faster than my old MSI m/b with Athlon!64 X2 cpu. After I have had it longer maybe I will see a bigger difference. Happy but not thrilled about performance.
