    Not worth the $ or the trouble

    EDIT: The set-up worked (using the Sengeld App) for 6 days. Then all bulbs lost their connection to the hub. Nope. No good. Not going to re-set the whole thing up again. I have KMC outlets and Phillips smart bulbs that rarely lose their connections to Alexa. When I moved, I plugged everything in and kept the same network name and password and bam! Everything found the the network and reconnected with Alexa. Sengled is not worth the $ or the trouble. This is my original review: While the Sengled starter kit is billed to work with Alexa, it apparently no longer does. This appears to be a recent change. I looked at reviews posted within 10 days of my purchase and apparently there has been a recent firmware update that essentially 'broke' the ability to work with Alexa. The hub ...

    Do your research and don't buy sengled element or use for ceiling fans.

    I researched brands and do not remember reading it doesn't work on ceiling fans--and that is the important light. I also didn't pay enough attention to the bulb and got ones that will not fit with a lamp shade. Once I ordered the correct bulbs and downloaded sengled element app as it says in the directions it worked on the ceiling fan lights but when I added the other lights all four work as unit. I could get other two to turn off as a unit even though they were programmed separately. I found the sengled app and switched to that and it worked with ONE ceiling fan light and the other two. I decided to switch back to element and as I re-installed it found it has been discontinued and replaced by regular. Now I can't get the lights to sync and will have to try manually using the QR code.
