Maximizing the benefits of writeable CD photography, Sony's new CD Mavica digital still camera model MVC-CD250 incorporates focus, exposure and archiving features that help make every picture worth keeping. Concentrating on focus and exposure - the two most important factors in capturing good images - was paramount in designing this new camera. Integrated technologies that work automatically to improve these factors include multi-point auto focus, multi-pattern and pre-flash exposure modes, as well as auto focus illumination and pre-set scene modes. Multi-point auto focus makes sure the cameras don't just focus on the center of the frame. Instead the MVC-CD250 model automatically finds the best focus among three different areas within the picture. The MVC-CD250 captures images with 2.0 megapixel (effective) resolution and 3X optical / 2X digital zoom. The CD250 model is positioned to introduce CD photography to anyone seeking a versatile, easy way to shoot, share and save great pictures.

    Sadly this camera is now a dinosaur

    Two major issues: First the battery goes dead and is not recharging. It is impossible to find a battery to replace it. Second and bigger issue maybe is that this camera has the small CDs and it has been impossible to find the CD adapter to work in a regular size CD slot in computer.

    Unbelieveable buy for the money. Great pictures.

    The quality of the pictures this camera takes with only 2 megapixels is great as long as you don't blow them up to more than 5" X 7"! It's 2013 and most cameras now are 10 megapixels or more. Actually research tells us that for regular size snapshots the quality of the lens is much more important than the number of megapixels. This camera has a high quality lens. GREAT deal for the money. These cameras cost about $800.00 in 2002. I bought this one on ebay for $15.00 in perfect condition!!!!!!

    Would definitely have another if the situation demanded it.

    This is the second one I have had. First one I sold because I had bid on a CD500 and had won both. Wife said I had to get rid of one, so the 250 was sold. I got a chance to buy this one at a ridiculous price , mostly for the accessories that had come with it, so I did. I fired up the 250 and it takes pix right along side the 500. It is a reliable workhorse that puts its pix on a mini disk which makes it easy to deal with on the computer. The Mavica line of Sony cameras is hard to beat for the money.
