The Nikon Speedlight SB-26 Shoe Mount Flash is a versatile photo accessory that provides many sounds and convenient features to enhance flash photography. This flash tool is more than just a bulb as the powered device comes with an integrated LCD screen on the exterior housing. You can choose to display distances in either feet or meters along with the attached camera's basic information, such as 35mm, guide number data, and zoom functionality. Control buttons just below the screen allow you to make minor adjustments to suit the shooting conditions.These Nikon SB-26 flashes have a Speedlight function, which makes photographs crisp and clear. This function works by altering the time that the light goes off in comparison to the shutter's position within the DSLR camera. Use the automatic balanced fill-flash option that's part of the TTL sensor so that the foreground and background are in perfect harmony during the film's exposure. Your camera lenses and Nikon SB-26 flash work together as they connect through the hot-shoe contacts at the base of the wireless flash.With the built-in diffuser card, you can improve the quality of your pictures. This SB26 part is near the integrated wide-flash adapter that also contributes to picture clarity. Enjoy the versatility of high-speed exposure to illumination when you want to capture those action shots, such as a flower bouquet being thrown at a wedding. Its wireless slave flash selector syncs through multiple terminals as well so that the subject is always highlighted in the photo.If you're new to either the auto or manual photography world, this Nikon SB26 product is entirely user-friendly because it automatically focuses the flash distance based on the light quality needed. Alternatively, professional photographers can also put the auto illumination tool into a manual mode by accessing the buttons. Each button has a specific mode that's indicated on the LCD screen. Alter the film speed, illumination repeat function, and many more functions with just a few taps on the Nikon system. Attached SLR cameras will sync up with these commands as the setup runs through the check and power modes.The red-eye reduction lamp ensures that extensive retouching is not required when taking portraits. This SB26 function simply creates an extra illumination prior to the actual flash from the 2.24-inch thick assembly. The subjects' pupils contract when this activation occurs, which contributes to fewer red eye issues due to the surrounding lighting. Another feature that creates a more natural lighting situation is the rear curtain sync. The power SB26 unit activates as the camera is completing the shot so that the ambient brightness has a longer exposure on the subject.Furthermore, this type of product also has some flexibility with tilting and rotating angle slots. Turn the flash from side to side or up and down. Adjustments are simple and quick when you're trying to capture a subject through your lens. The illuminating part also quickly and conveniently mounts on top of your device through the shoe mount. A mounting pin and sliding base make the connection a swift one.

    Perfect for stobists

    This flash was once Nikon's BEST flash. After this model, Nikon began producing the cheaply made SB-28 which felt like a toy that if dropped, would shatter. Personally, it's Nikon's last great flash and works perfectly for those photographers who are getting into one light/ strobist work. Ultra reliable, you can drop it and it'll keep working and at the moment, I now own 14 of these little tanks..!     very good when compared to performance / price

    Buy it for wedding photography indoors, outdoors, photographing family and friends. it is a great light, strong and durable. It can work well with the Canon 5D camera, Pentax K5, Nikon D700 that I have. Slave function works very well on the K5 and D700. It will be a consideration when compared to a similar Metz.

    Good Output

    This Nikon speedlight was originally marketed in the late 80's or early 90's. But like most Nikon speedlights it holds its value, because they always work. Take the batteries out when done using it, and put fresh batteries in 5 years from now and fire away.
