Product Information

The bestselling business book from award-winning restauranteur Danny Meyer, of Union Square Cafe, Gramercy Tavern, and Shake Shack Seventy-five percent of all new restaurant ventures fail, and of those that do stick around, only a few become icons. Danny Meyer started Union Square Cafe when he was 27, with a good idea and hopeful investors. He is now the co-owner of a restaurant empire. How did he do it? How did he beat the odds in one of the toughest trades around? In this landmark book, Danny shares the lessons he learned developing the dynamic philosophy he calls Enlightened Hospitality. The tenets of that philosophy, which emphasize strong in-house relationships as well as customer satisfaction, are applicable to anyone who works in any business. Whether you are a manager, an executive, or a waiter, Danny's story and philosophy will help you become more effective and productive, while deepening your understanding and appreciation of a job well done. • Missing information

Sadly when I opened the book it had notes and someone had written in not just one but multiple pages. It would have been nice to see this in the review of the product..

  • Setting the Table

Success in buiness, be it the restaurant genre as describe artfully by Mr. Meyer, or any other, is elegently outline in this work. Focus on your employees and THEY will tend to your customers. While not ground breaking, Mr. Meyer's extended formula for success can be easily carried over to ANY business setting. We have made this work mandatory reading at my company - we place that level of value on the piece. The fruits of that mandate are coming to fruition and I am grateful for the time, effort, and energy Mr. Meyer put into this project! As a sidebar - it is an entertaining, pleasent read for anyone interested in the restaurant business or any other. Five Stars.
