    Good condition

Book came as advertised - in good condition. Bought for my daughter so can't speak as to the content being compelling or not.

  • The Color Purple should be read again and again

I decided to buy this book for my philosophy class. The book was in very good condition with no water damage or anything. The book has an inspirational feel to it an dit causes you to feel and array of emotions. I would recommend this book to other college students and families. I would read the book ahead of time first to make sure nothing is read out loud that is not wished. There are many designs out there for this book but I like purple and I like how one particular scene is the cover.

  • The Color Purple

I thought the movie was great, but reading the book is just more in detail. You get to know the characters better like Shug, Nettie, Harpo, Ms Sophia and even Squeak and who can forget Mister M-I-S-T-E-R. lol. I love the book even more. But I dont think I would have had as much interest if it wasnt for the movie ,since I am more of a visual person. I think this is one of the best books ever written. You go Ms Walker.

  • Love it!

I always loved this movie! It is my favorite one and wanted to get the book. My husband surprised me with it on my birthday! Best gift ever loved it!

  • The Color Purple

I'd never read this classic, because I thought the rape and childhood sexual abuse elements would be too sad for me to bear. However, I'm so glad I finally gave it a chance. Alice Walker has a beautiful soul and she weaves it eloquently through these two women. It's one of the most uplifting books I've ever read.
