Robert Munsch's beloved tale is gentle affirmation of the love a parent feels for her child -- forever. Nurtured by the unconditional love of his parent, a boy grows happily through the stages of childhood to become, in turn, a loving adult. This best-selling classic of a parent's enduring love is available in a gift edition: slipcased with a laminated box and a clothbound book., #5 on Instructor's "Teachers Pick the Top 50 Kids Books Ever", chosen by 200 teachers, authors, and children's literature experts. I cry every time I read it.... [The book] is a beautiful script about parenthood, a poignant parable about life and death, a testimony to when the roles of child and parent become blurry. The story reminds you that no matter how grown up you are, you're always someone's child; that no matter how "adult" you are, you're never too old to be loved by your parents. It makes me appreciate even more how my mother still calls me and my brother (despite us being 32- and 22-years-old, respectively) by our childhood nicknames, Pussycat and Tchotchke (Yiddish for "knickknack"). Pigeonholing this as a children's book is like saying "Romeo & Juliet" is merely a cautionary tale about drug abuse. I dare anyone to read this story and not shed at least one tear by the end. It's even more poignant when you learn that Munsch wrote the book as a memorial to two still-born children he and his wife had in 1979 and 1980., This best-selling classic of a parent's enduring love is available in a gift edition: slipcased with a laminated box and a clothbound book, There are certain books about a parent's unconditional love for a child that are timeless--and this is one of them, Robert Munsch's beloved tale is gentle affirmation of the love a parent feels for her child -- forever., There are certain books about a parent's unconditional love for a child that are timeless--and this is one of them., This book is beyond emotional. Tysvm for this item it’s in superb condition and the lil note on the inner cover was very thoughtful my mother used to read this to me as a child and sadly cancer took her this year and I read it as soon as I got it and welled up. Thank you for this precious memory of her and I’ll treasure it always. Extremely happy (and yes a lil emotional ❤️) customer. 👍🏼

Perfect book for a male baby!!! Absolutely Lovely!!!

I love this book and I give it as a baby shower gift when the baby is going to be a boy. If you have never read this book, I recommend that you do. If you have remember to grab the kleenexes. I have shared this book for a number of years and will continue to do so until I can no longer get copies as it goes out of print.

  • This will be a favorite read for both parent and child.

I purchased this book as part of a baby shower gift. The Mommy wanted to get books instead of cards! I thought it was a great idea. As a special needs Nanny, I have read so many books to children, but this book is a standout. To me, it gives a glimpse into the total spectrum of Mother and child from baby birth to Mommy near death. It speaks of the total love between Mommy and baby. We always tell our children we will love them forever, knowing that we will!!! And as the child grows, he realizes he will love his Mom forever even as she grows old and he ends up holding her in the rocking chair as she ages. It is easy to read and has a poetic rhythm to it that children like. I promise it will become a favorite of both parent and child!

  • I'm so glad I purchased

I love this book I purchased it because when my son was in preschool he bought this book home for me to read to him almost everyday now my son is 15 years old and I reminded him of that book it was delivered in good condition only writing on the front pages but its look fairly new

  • Love You Forever, A son sermon to his Mother

A great friend and educator passed away this week. She taught young children with care and love for almost 60 years. Do you remember your 2nd grade teacher? Her students did and spoke to her often. Her son gave the funeral address and he ended the sermon by reading this book and it was so touching that I bought 3 of the books. It is a great educational book that teaches a mother's love and teaches sons in turn to love and respect their mother love. It has unusual humor but always returns to the main theme as quoted from the book, "I will love you forever, I will like you always, you will always be my baby." Even a grown son who is married will always be his mothers baby.

  • timeless classic

I love this book, it is very near and dear to me. I would like to believe it was to someone else as well as this book was printed in 1996 and has the brand new off the shelf feel. With it being autographed is even more stupendous. Is there anymore history behind this book? I would love to know mainly because of the annotation, “to mother, grandma, friend”. Regardless of its history it makes you think, but I love it and will pass this story on to my own one day. Thank you very much for this opportunity.
