  • Soft Cover, International Edition

Soft cover, international edition is working out great for me in my class. I am using it a lot. So far nothing is different from the American edition. It is lighter weight than the hardcover books, which is nice when you've got to carry a lot of other books around as well. It was much cheaper than the American edition but so far everything has been the same if not better than the American edition.

  • A solid text.

I am not exactly sure why ebay has asked me to review the hardcover version of this book. I purchased a paperback international version. However, even for the paperback, I am completely satisfied with the product. As an engineering student, higher level math is a must for me. Though I may have slacked some in some of my lower level maths, this book has a good balance of describing new concepts with a review of the concepts it assumes are common knowledge to the reader. At the same time, however, it also gives the reader a chance to stretch his or her knowledge with problems that engage all of a mathematician's skill sets. A note on the comparability of the IV with the USV: While officially the US version is required in my class, i have had no discrepancies using the IV. All of the chapter ...

  • A good book for your math library.

Older textbooks like this one always offer another perspective that can be quite helpful. This one is well written.

  • Get the international edition it is cheaper

Buy the international edition it has all the same content and is around $45. I personally don't like this book for self teaching in differential equations but if you need it for a class go with the international edition

  • If it's cheaper here, buy it.

I purchased an international version in paperback. Considerably less expensive than its US version. Excellent quality. So far, all the content is identical. It still doesn't make DE fun.
