This is far superior to the cheaper ratchet operated compressors. A must have if there is any overhang over the engine. The only downside was the cam in my 2009 4.7 had a larger diameter shaft and I had to open up the throat with a die grinder, see pictures.

This valve spring compressor for Dodge 4.7L engines works well. Didn't have any issue using this on my 2002 Dakota. Only criticism I'd have is the window on the piece that sits on top of the spring retainer is a tad small for bigger hands. Still works well though. Shipped fast and arrived in perfect condition.
