For the Aspiring Youth Pastor, Direct and to the Point!
This book is not a new release, but its content is ageless as it speaks to those entering Youth Ministry or any ministry for that matter. Mike Yaconelli though no longer with us was a pioneer in so many aspects of working with youth and the church. Through his non-conventional manner of speaking and thinking it becomes very easy to understand more of where the Christian should be in reaching out to others. I read this book many years ago and still draw from it. This copy will hopefully become a gift for an aspiring person entering their ministry to others.This book is not a new release, but its content is ageless as it speaks to those entering Youth Ministry or any ministry for that matter. Great title for a super book about God's Love & Grace!
After reading this book at a friend's suggestion, I went and bought more copies to share with friends. Like Brennan Manning's RAGAMUFFIN GOSPEL, this book is about God's boundless love and Grace, but it is easier to read, great for the new and struggling Christian. Manning's work may be more scholarly, but scholarly is not always what a struggling Christian needs. This book has many stories about how God accepts the unacceptable and why we should, too [to counter-act the legalistic tendencies many of us still have.] It's very encouraging.After reading this book at a friend's suggestion, I went and bought more copies to share with friends. Well, I love the product I bought--Messy Spirituality-- was in excellent condition; although, I was just GRATEFUL to have it in my possession because a beloved counselor lady friend told me about it, and I had to have it. I am very glad I bought it and would recommend it to ANYONE. It is very easy to read and understand. It is helpful and brings a lot of comfort to those struggling in their own walk in life.Well, I love the product I bought--Messy Spirituality-- was in excellent condition; although, I was just GRATEFUL to have it in my possession because a beloved counselor lady friend told me about it, and I had to have it.
