works like a new unit now.
I was getting sheets of ice freezing on the bottom of my double drawer maytag. The factory drain tube has a rubber grommet with just a slit to let water drain out and when it gets gummed up, water backs up into the freezer instead. This part is a direct fit, and better design (no rubber grommet with small slit) and fixed the problem. Only takes 10 minutes to put it in too.

Works, with some effort.....
The spacer was too big to put over the refrigerator drain tube so I used a thinner one I had to cut from some tubing I had. Then this new p trap drain tube would fit okay at the top. It came apart where the top section meets the p trap though, so had to reglue those parts back together with epoxy. Overall seems like a good solution to the previous grommet that clogged.

If you have a Maytag,Whirlpool, Amana, french door,or any bottom freezer model from them this will fix the water/ice problem in the bottom of your freezer. As far as I am concerned the factory should give you these but they will not. A poor design of the defrost drain causes the problem. Easy fix, but you will also have to defrost the freezer to remove the ice buildup. This is a factory fix for the ice buildup problem. Exactly as order
Took me a bit of time to figure out exactly how to install this. The biggest problem was removing the old drain tube. I needed to shove a screwdriver down the tube to push the tab that allowed it to release. After that, installing was exactly as per the provided instructions. Good value for money, and an easy do it yourself project.

Do it yourself and save BIG
The shipping was fast and with the video on youtube anyone can do this job. The hardest part of the job is pulling the refrigerator away from the wall. The manufacturer said they would pay for the part, but I had to have one of their installers do the job and they would not pay for the labor. Trust me the labor would have been way more than I paid for the part and the install was very easy. Go ahead and do it yourself.
