I did measure my dog but this harness is still too big. I bought it because after an accident I had and he was boarde for three weeks he nips sometimes at the doggie park. The problem is when the leash is off this harness which it is at a doggie park the straps come down over the DO NOT PET sign on the sides. It is so big for him that he got out of it easily walking to the park from the truck and he ran down the hill. Fortunately he ran towards the gate to enter the park and not the highway.
