This is so good. I asked my wife if I could play it... she said no. So I said “Zaxx-on deez nuts!” Which went over well. Then I had to take care of my diabetes because this game is so sweet. I screamed “diabetes nuts”.

Great game for the 32x

the reason why i bought the zaxxon motherbase game is because the game is a sega product, which sega has done very well in making quality games, as well as game systems.
Whenever people talk about the Sega 32X, they always talk about the arcade ports of Virtua Fighter or Star Wars Arcade, or some of the exclusives like Knuckles Chaotix, Kolibri, Metal Head or even Shadow Squadron/Stellar Assault, which, are mediocre at best. Everyone pans the system for having no good games, and yet, nobody EVER mentions this game. A game that's been affordable and easily accessible since the release of the darn system, and yet NOBODY owns this game! Being the most unknown gem on the system, Zaxxon's Motherbase 2000 on the Sega 32X is a treat. Not only does it show off the 32X's graphical prowess, but unlike every other 32X game, it goes beyond a simple tech demo with shallow gameplay. (Though the game does lack a bit of polish I'll admit. Stick with it beyond the first couple stages, and you'll be pleasantly surprised) This game rules. It has the depth, charm and character no other 32X game holds. Just full of little details that takes multiple plays to catch all of, and a game that requires you to learn the game's system and stages to survive. This is a game. A very good game. If you needed a game to justify the purchase of a 32X, this would be it. Be warned however, that the game is also fairly unforgiving, which may put off many players who aren't already accustomed to shmups.Read full review
