    Compatible with HID Prox Card II

    This model of the "blue gun" is probably the one you want. It can read/write all 125 KHz RFID cards - including HID Prox Cards. It *cannot* overwrite cards that have been programmed - that is to say cards that have been shipped with a specific facility code and sequential numbers. This unit ships with T5577 "blanks" which will copy and can be overwritten as many times as you need. For ordering more blank cards/fobs, search the web for T5577 prox products.

    Excellent (if naughty) device

    Cloned my building and work badge no problem. Super easy to use. You can get it cheaper from China, but there are two versions and this one came so quick from US so it was worth it to me. The other version (two beep) isn't as versatile.

    Proof of concept

    I got this as a proof of concept device to see how hard (or easy) it was to clone an institutional access card. There was no guarantee that it would work. Some cards can be copied; some cannot. But there is great institutional resistance to upgrading a system like this because, well, everyone needs new cards. So we sail on hoping no one will notice. There are cloning devices out there that over-promise what they can do. And they cost more. This one will not copy tokens that contain cryptographic keys, but then it never promised it would. And it is priced appropriately. This device by itself is not enough.You also need to read a bunch of stuff like wikipedia pages to understand the range of contactless access cards in play. But that info is all out there.

    Not a show stopper but gets the job done!

    It's a cheap plastic device, it does exactly what it needs to do. Purchased it to replicate our apartment gate key, at $50 a pop and only one per apartment it was annoying so we made our purchase. Our access card is an HID Proxcard II, we put the device to the card, hit the "read" button, got the green light, but a little blue key tag (5 included) to the device and pressed "write" and within less than a minute we had made our first clone. 2 minutes later all 5 keys were made, and the device was thrown back in the box probably to be forgotten until a later time.
