The product received was as advertised and arrived quickly. Works as expected and a must for anyone who has a vintage Macintosh and looking for alternative displays to the old CRT's. Definitely recommend this product and reseller. Will do business with them again!

    Excellent product!!! Instructions are lacking.

Excellent product, even works for my Macintosh IIci, but I had to find a monitor that would work properly as not all monitors will work even with the adapter. The instructions are not the greatest, but it's a decent starting point and if trying all setups you should eventually be able to find something that will work. Don't let the lackluster instructions deter you from purchasing, it's a very useful product for those Macintosh computers that require a dip switch adapter!

Generic adaptor that may work only with a specific LCD monitor

I tried many dip switch settings and could not find an acceptable display for my monitor. It needs to have an easier method to select and test different settings. The instructions list resolutions settings but not even the basic 640x480 is obtainable withi this adaptor. It might be the monitor I am using (a 2005 Samsung LED monitor). I will try other monitors.

  • Works fine on modern LCD with 1, 4, 6, 7, 9

You have to set the DIP switches to the type of monitor you're planning on using. The adapter came with a setup table listing all of the combinations that it supports. I imagine if you're trying to connect an "era-appropriate" (ie. old) VGA monitor, having all those combinations gives you a good chance at finding the "wiring configuration" that your monitor needs. However, I'm using a ~2018 1080P HP LCD, which doesn't care about all of the older VGA configurations. The only 100% working setup I found is 1, 4, 6, 7, 9 (Mode 5 Multiple Scan 21"). With it, my PowerMac 8600 cleanly outputs: 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960, and 1280x1024. I imagine that many other "modern" LCDs will work with that setup too.

  • Very good value and built quality. Very useful !

I find this product very valuable. It convert DB-15 Apple video signals to VGA signals, so one can connect modern video monitor to old Macintosh computers. The product is very reliable. I tried it with Raster Ops 264/SE/30 video board, and the native video of my PowerMac 7300/166. In both cases, the device is working flawlessly, providing the standard video resolutions available in the computer. I followed another client's advice, so to set the 10 dip switches like this : 1-4-6-7-9 in the "ON" position, and the others in the "OFF" position. This setup is working with modern multi-sync VGA monitors, like my LG Flatron L203WTX-BF, built in 2006. The built quality of the display adapter is very good, too. I recommend this product without hesitations. Thank you for reading !
