Another great train set
I like the different Bachmann train sets to help my great grandchildren learn about life. I just bought the Thoroughbred and the Red Rock Express sets off eBay, still new in the box. Trains pass pretty close to my house and each time, I ask the kids "do you hear the train coming?". We watch train videos on YouTube to show how many assorted trains there are with different engines and colors. I love the old steam engines I grew up with so I collect as many different ones as I can afford. Very nice quality for a starter set.
This a great set for younger train enthusiasts. It looks like a higher quality set you would pay much more for. It has a ton of detail. It is super easy to assemble. The only issues I see is the track to add on is a bit pricey and you will want to add on to it because the track is a small oval. It is a bit fragile so you need care when playing with it. If you just want a toy, the bare minimum of a train set, this is a great start. EZ track is as it sounds, easy. It's all very obvious how to set things up, even without instructions. Extremely easy to put together an go go go !!
A great train set for my first ever purchase. I have so many ideas and this is a wonderful starting foundation to expand with. Several people told me to go with the HO size because there were so many items made to go along with it (buildings, etc.). They were spot on, as they say! I would recommend this set for anyone wanting to start your journey. My personal connection to this particular set (THOROUGHBRED) is the Norfolk Engine & Caboose. My brother retired from that RR...my uncle and father also retired from (ConRail), which Norfolk Southern purchased. :)
