Big fan of Prince but I had expected the CD to have songs sound better than Phase 2 but it didn't really do it as easy for me. Great for huge fans.
Out of all of Prince records, I would rate this one as somewhere in the middle for great listening. Personally, I liked Phase 2 better. I am a huge Prince fan and consider this a must have to add to my collection. One of my favorites
I adore Prince. My favorite genre is hard rock/rock and this album is exactly that. Prince's wonderful talent for smoothly mixing elements of dif genres is in evidence here. Every song on this CD is great to listen to. There are a couple nods to past Prince hits. Guest singers include Judith Hill, Rita Ora, Curly Fryz and Lianne La Havas. It just gets better and better with each play. There are plenty of memorable phrases, some which are glimpses into Prince's world. Do you like Prince?
This is a very up beat CD. If you like Prince, and like his older very hip style songs from yesteryear than you will like this CD. He hits a lot of different styles, types of music with this one. It keeps you hopping the whole CD. It is a shame that he won't be making music anymore, as both this CD and Phase Two show he still has what it takes to be on top. If you have Phase Two, it is completely different from this one. It's very Funk driven where as this one is very Hip Hop top 40 style.
