Runaway... a movie from my past
I remember seeing this movie years ago. Michael Crichton has some great ideas; this was a good one, falling short of great. It's not his best. But maybe it's unfair to compare. I think most popular would be Jurassic Park. My favorite is Andromeda Strain. I liked Timeline, Disclosure, Sphere, The Great Train Robbery, and this one, Runaway. The technology seems dated. Good story, great effects, great actors, great balance of it all
I kind of forgot about this great movie. It downplays the futuristic special effects a bit in favour of telling a good story. Gene Simmons (from KISS) is a great actor, and plays a great villain. The little personal quirk of the main character is important to the climax of the movie too... Cynthia Rhodes is also a very different kind of woman in this kind of movie... not a Princess Leia kind of woman at all... but that's okay. She has her own blend of femininity and strength.
