They were double boxed, which is as good as high density foam that companies use for the original box (and each speaker was in individual box which prevents speakers from banging into each other during shipping). Condition was as stated in sale. Tested speakers out and they sound great. This is my third boston acoustics set that I've gotten in past couple of weeks and definitely don't disappoint. Thanks
