Great Little knife
I wanted a knife to piggyback on the much larger SCHF9 and this one does the trick. It could also make a wonderful neck knife. It is not a large knife but is very robust. It comes shaving sharp out of the box and even sharper with 5 or 6 wipes on the old leather strop. It feels good in the hand and when it comes to kitchen chores or fine work it is amazing. Don't worry about breaking the tip on this one!!! The blade is stout right to the tip. The sheath is excellent and holds the knife very secure. Schrade knives have always been one of my Favorites but, after they closed the factory in NY, and went out of business, I haven't bought any of their knives! Now it has gotten to the point where you can't find many knives that are made in the USA, so I figured I would buy one of these and check it out! So far, it is holding up to a rather hard use! I use my knives and really put them through there paces! It's a good one, that feels good in my hand! I buy a lot of knives this was a little short stubby one can you be very short like the case I like a fat handle then the one that has on it but that's to each his own but I think is a very good quality night plan on killing a deer in the next 2 weeks will use it for a skinning, knife, also got a little leather shop on the back of our place and make custom rattlesnake belts going to use it for skinning them also haven't tried to sharpen it to see if it's easier to sharpen I use a three stone method that usually works on any kind of knife but for the price look very good sometime you pay a lot just for a name and not in the product at that price I paid for the product and got a good name thank you RickyVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice little knife for the price. Sheath needs a bit of work, though.
Nice knife, and very good edge right out of the box. The only reason for the four stars is the sheath. For some reason, the knife isn't far enough away from the kydex to comfortably grip the handle to pull the knife out. I'm sure it can be fixed with a little work, but that's not really the point. Its a good little knice, But......
It's a nice little knife, but the handle is very small and the sheath very tight, making it somewhat difficult to grab the knife and get it out. Add to that the handle is very close to the belt loop tang, making it difficult to get a decent grip on the knife to get it out of the sheath. Modifying the sheath may be the option.
