    so sharp you could use it for shaving

    This is a lens sharp at all apertures, smaller and lighter than I expected, but still has the L lens quality. i was dubious about buying it as I already own the 24-105mm f4, and it is a lot of money. I like to travel light and can't give up the 70-200 f2.8 which IS heavy. I can always carry the 50 f1.8 to cover the gap as it is as light as a feather. I don't think there is a better wide angle zoom than this Canon, there may be some as good. This has come from Canon limiting the zoom range so you lose a few mm zoom and gain exceptional quality edge to edge.

    How Do They It?

    After using one of these lenses on loan from a friend, and being mightily impressed by it, I made the deceision to add one of these to my camera bag. I initially looked at the second hand market when this new one came up in my search. It was only slighty more expensive than the s/h items I was looking at! The lens turned up a week quicker than the delivery dated I was given and as promised, it was brand new with all it's accessories. Highly recommended supplier.

    One of Canon's best....

    Possible one of the best Canon L series lenses. Sharp images, well made (dust and water resistant). Image stabalized.It is quite a heavy lens but not so that it is a problem. Pick up a used one for a good price and you will not be disappointed if landscape photography is your thing. also very useful for interior shots where space is limited, eg a group of people in a normal size house room.

    Excellent lens!

    Build quality worthy of L-series yet relatively compact and lightweight. I bought it for my EOS C100 and with the its excellent IS the EF 16-35mm f/4L is a performer . A must have for video. Sharp image and no vignetting on the Super 35 sensor.
