Just what I wanted.
I've wanted one of these for a while, as arthritis takes control of my grip! Oddly, I gave one as a gift about 30 years ago that is still going strong. Interestly, I think I paid about $20 for it, so was VERY glad to get such a good deal on this one. Not happy with the purchase of the Black and Decker Spacesaver can opener.
First of all it, knowing it was used, I figured it would have to be cleaned. However, this can opener was so dirty it took me 3 days of soaking and cleaning all the parts to get it clean. Second, my husband mounted it and it barely works. I had a Black and Decker cabinet-mount can opener that I used for more than 20 years and never had a problem until it finally died. When I went to replace it the price was so high that I bought a standing can opener which, while it works fine, cannot compare to the B&D one I had. It looks good, but hard to get the cans inserted enough to get them to start opening.

Homely and time consuming to install, but functional
It's about what we expected, except I had hoped I could install it in the same cabinet holes as the previous one, but the back holes were closer together. Also there were only three plastic spacers to bring it below the cabinet overhang, and I needed four. I had to cut one of the spacers from the previous opener to bring it far enough down that the can opener lever could be raised enough to engage the can. In addition, the previous B&D opener had a nice rounded, almost artsy look, whereas the new one is just a functional "box".Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
