Gamers take the role of Shard, a young guardian owl whose mission is to discover the truth behind a powerful and secretive group known as the Pure Ones. Players guide Shard through a series of more than 20 missions that follow the storyline of the movie, flying through dangerous locations, exploring unknown areas, and engaging in mid-air combat, using powerful battle-claw attacks. Shard is sometimes joined by other allied characters, who will lend support in battle and will attack on command. As they progress through the adventure, players unlock new armor sets to equip, each offering distinct advantages that may be crucial to overcoming obstacles and advancing to future missions. The Owls of Ga'Hoole is designed to be accessible, with simple controls for younger players, while also offering a more robust combat system for gamers who can learn to string together powerful combo attacks.
