Four years after its arcade debut, Exidy's arcade classic Crossbow comes home to your Atari 2600. Armed with your crossbow, it's your job to escort your friends to the Master's castle, defeat the Master and retrieve the stolen treasure. To get to the castle, you must first fight your way through treacherous areas including a desert, a volcano, a jungle and a cave.<br><br>At the beginning of Crossbow, players see themselves represented on a map. Below are two path choices -- a red path or a blue path. Shoot a color to determine which scenario your friends enter. This map sequence also occurs after the completion of each level.<br><br>Once inside a scenario, you must aim your targeting cursor to destroy the enemies that attack your helpless friends. Only one friend needs to make it across the screen to continue. The game ends if all friends die.<br><br>There are four different skill levels of Crossbow for one or one players. In games one and two your crossbow cursor is visible and your friends are immune to being shot by your crossbow. In games three and four, the cursor is visible, but your friends are not protected. In games five and six, the cursor is invisible and your friends are protected. In games seven and eight, the cursor is invisible and your friends are not protected. <br><br>Adjusting the difficulty switch affects the speed of the crossbow - "A" for faster movement and "B" for slower.<br><br>Extra friends are awarded every 10,000 points.
