    An excellent device

    After much searching I decided to purchase this compass for my 4X4. It was worth every cent! When I opened the parcel it was obvious that this was a precision instrument and not a "toy". Now mounted in the truck (on my dash) it has a nice design and looks good. I've driven over 1000 klms since installing it and am very happy with it's performance. The directions are easily visible - even when pitching and yawing - and the directions are true (NB I have not bothered connecting up the 12v light). It is important to read the instructions regarding installation and placement. I used a few small pieces of double sided tape that allowed me to adjust the location and finally settle on its final place (it took me three attempts to find the ideal placement for minimal interference).     Ritchie Compass X-10-A

    Compass appears to be pretty accurate. Due to vibration, it does not work great for me. It has a pivot to adjust the mounting angle that regardless of how tight I get the screws, it still vibrates down. Would work great in a car.
