The improvement in performance over mechanical calipers isn't extreme, levers still require quite a bit of exertion in the hand to clamp the rotor, but once the pads begin to touch the rotor the difference is apparent. This is roughly the same experience I've had with the much more expensive TRP hybrid calipers, so I think these may be just characteristics of hybrid caliper systems in general. Worth it if you can get them at a good price.

I love these brakes and feel very comfortable at higher speeds knowing i can make a reasonable stop. GREAT product!! Now to see how long they last? Read a lot of negative feedback on sites about them leaking? Time will tell. So far EXCELLENT!!
