I cancelled though so I can’t really say anything on the description accuracy or packaging or anything. I only canceled cause I forgot to check the shipping price (I chose the wrong primary address).     Fantastic print quality

    Print quality is awesome for even pictures! The paper catch tray is lacking in that it is only a pull out bar perpendicular to the tray and full color prints tend to drop at the corners unless removed immediately. It was easy to set up as long as we went step by step per the instructions.

    I have an HP Officejet for everyday work, but the photo printing quality leaves alot to be desired in that the photo-quality is no where near what you would expect to get from photos developed from a local photo store/ developer. As a direct result, I research the best pritnter for photo-quality, and this printer had very good reviews, with detailed explanation from many of the users, so I took a shot! I am glad I did, as the photos turned out to be the quality you would expect to get from a profession developer & printer. Since I have numerous photos hanging on my walls throughout the house, I printed a couple of pictures with this printer and compraed them....the quality was as good or better than most that were displayed!!! Needless to say, I am very satisfied with my purchase!

    Does everything I need

    It touches all the bases! I plugged in the rj45 cable directly to my router and, with a minor amount of configuration, was printing away. This was on my Linux box. The touchscreen control panel is superb! It centralizes the controls much better than my old Canon MG5400 series.The only thing it doesn't have is an outfeed tray: it outputs directly to the surface in front of it, so this surface must not block the paper's exit. Not an issue for me, but something to know.

    this is my second canon pixma 8600 , so i can share the ink between both of them , and found that the cheapest price for ink is the canon 8600 series .nowa days its about the money , i got a good deal on the printer and a better deal on ink ..

    Good printer.

    The printer wasn't easily friendly to set up even following the instructions, but after taking my time to set it up, it works perfectly. Still needs to set the fax, but everything is ok. Thank you.
