    SONY WALKMAN WM-EX190, Wioth MEGA BASS

    Sony made the primo Walkman back in the 1990's; and this is it. However there are caveats involved, but as a former audio engineer, I know a little something about sound, and tape is still one of my favorite sounds. I use my JVC TD V661,Pro-Cassette Deck which I purchased in 1997 for $300.00,so I can make perfect tapes with triple equalization, EQ and so on, for my favorite 1950's-1960's-'70's music. My settings are tuned for the ultimate playback sound, on my Sony Walkman WM-EX-190. Also I cannot use the headphones that come with this set and instead use the Panasonic RP-HV260 Portable Earbud Headphones with Shock Wave Technology (Frequency response with ear buds is 25kHz-10Hz) (My ear buds also have felt surrounding the ear buds for a cushy solid fit.) This completes the picture for me

    Sony Walkman

    I purchased this as a gift for my husband for our 24 th anniversary. The Walkman it self works fine but the headset part the foam crumbled when he opened the package so until we find an other headset it isn't really useful. Looks like this has been sitting around for a very long time was very disappointed that this happened.

    Erratic volume control

    I have owned more than one of these and they have eventually developed a problem with the volume control. Instead of a smooth gradation from loud to soft, they start to go loud and soft at the wrong times depending on where in the control lands when changing the volume. You might think you are lowering the volume when all of a sudden it will jump to maximum volume, then back to lower as you go down; This happens several times throughout the volume range.

    Sweet deal

    Its a walkman and it works. Its not the best walkman that they ever made but its in like new condition and pumps the speakers up loud enough to hear riding my bike next to the freeway. It has no bells and whistles and if you use it for running or cycling you need to tie a rubber band around it but its great quality for the price. I dont need equalizers and balancers and all that stuff anyway. This has play ff rvs and pause what more do u need.
