Although you needed to go to Sony, download software, unzip the file and then load it into the tv which is a bit lengthy, the board worked great. the procedure has nothing to do with the seller...that's just Sony's procedure.

the tv works again, without it was on a constant loop and wouldn't reset no matter how many tries. Hanging back the tv on the wall was more difficult than changing this part.

The usb update is no big deal just download the file from the Sony support site to a thumb drive and plug it in once you install the new board and before you power up.

Must know how to update the firmware. My model was the XBR65x850C Sony Bravia. I had the issues of no power as if the tv was turned off with no status lights or anything. Turned out from research it’s the main board. Make sure you download the firmware of your TV onto a fresh flash drive. Make sure you unzip the firmware before you copy it onto the flash drive. Once I installed the main board onto the tv and plugged it in, the tv was flashing amber/green non stop. This means the board needed a firmware update. There was sound but still no picture. I then unplugged the TV and plugged the usb flash drive in the tv. Then I plugged the TV back in and the TV went from flashing amber/green to flashing white after a couple of minutes. Flashing white means it’s updating. The flashing white lasted a good 30 mins before the TV screen finally turned on. Hope this helps. Read full review
