  • ONE OF THE TOP FIVE ALBUMS OF THE DECADE

SAVES THE DAY's "IN REVERIE is/was way ahead of its time. Remember WEEZER'S "PINKERTON", yeah, that's basically what "IN REVERIE" is. Not many people get it but these are the most well-crafted untypical pop songs of the decade. I think the reason most people don't like it is because they are used to common chord progressions and as for SAVES THE DAY's other (older and newer) albums: "Can't Slow Down", "Through Being Cool", "Stay What You Are" "Ups and Downs...", and "Sound The Alarm", they all share many typical chord progressions and arrangements. I mean that stuff is good for what it is and all, but "IN REVERIE" draws influences from Classic Rock, Jazz, and the structure potential of True Cutting Edge Musicians that are painting a new picture for us. It's too bad this Disc Flopped ...

  • What happened??

Okay, so I am more of a punkrocker than an emo guy, but I absolutely loved all of their albums before this one- especially "Stay what you are" and the acoustic EP. Through the years, Saves the Day was getting increasingly better, and more popular- for that matter. In the months approaching the release of this album, I thought STD may have a Blink 182 type of explosion. Well, it was quite the opposite. The songs are VERY whiney and not catchy. It is probably a true Emo album, but that wasn't the direction STD looked to be going in. In recent years, STD has tried to go back to their roots, but can't seem to catch that fire they had on their first few albums.

  • Great CD!!

I know that this is one of Saves the Day's lower rated albums' but this is by far my favorite one. It has the best melodies, I sing along to every song. I love it!

  • if you like...

If you like Saves the Day already, or just emo in general, you will love this album. It's more of an emotional album than early STD, which is more punk. Personally, I think this is their best album.

  • pretty good saves the day

this album really marked a change in saves the day sound with just simple rockish guitars and drums. at first i wasnt a fan but gave it a listen and i like it now. for a saves the day fan its a good album, but if you only like their old fast stuff then this is not for you
