    Solid build quality, smooth operation

    This is a TRUE trainer knife, it's not blade with a dull edge or even a sharp one on some of the so-called trainers on here. The blade is the same thickness front to back. Has easy to distinguish holes in the blade so you KNOW it's the trainer and an 'accident' doesn't happen. It's made by Kershaw, so it's to the same quality of fit and finish as the rest of their knives. Unlike some of the 'trainers' that are copies of better known knives but not even close in quality. It's smoother operating and exactly to scale of the real knives. The Emerson wave design on the blade is great to practice for a fast draw and presentation, without the worry of a live edge. It's also great for practicing disarming and stopping a knife attack. I bought this for my teenager to practice with before ...

    Nice trainer but could be better

    I watched a video of this tool before purchasing it. The knife blade opened easily in the video and swung freely. The blade in reality does not open easily (I need to use two hands) and sits stiffly when half open. Smooth, but stiff. It is a quality instrument in every other respect and great for knife fighting drills. If you want to practice pulling the knife out and snapping it opened with one hand, it is useless.

    Realistic training knife!

    Solid construction and proper weight. It's not like a plastic or molded "blue" knife that is clearly a training aid but doesn't replicate the real thing. This is designed exactly like a tactical folder and has an adjustable pocket clip for left or right hand use. It also has the wave feature if your every day carry has one of those. This training knife allows proper practice without the danger of cutting yourself and someone else. It is a great value and must have for someone training on how to use a folding knife for self-defense.

    If you train, get one

    I am a knife handling instructor and carry an Emerson knife with the wave opener. This type of training knife is highly recommended for reality-based scenarios. This one is high quality and durable.

    Training Knife Worth Using

    As a blade edge weapon defense instructor, police instructor and military veteran I am glad to finally see a quality training knife being produced. The training knife is screw to screw exact to the real deal (which has become my EDC knife). This training knife allows for training outside blade avoidance which is all that can be done with other training knives.
