My 10 year old black Labrador, Lucy, suffers from arthritis in her left elbow. My vet prescribed these chews to ease Lucy's pain. THEY WORK!!!! On her bad days, and when the weather is changing, I give her two or three, sometimes four, usually just one. While she's not quite as spry as a puppy, she does get around without too much limping. I supplement with joint-lubricating pills from my local health food store, and that helps, too. Don't buy this product from your vet because you'll pay WAAAY too much. VET Recommended - Dogs Love the Flavor
We have a Yorkie (13 1/2 years old) and a Yorkie/Cairn Terrier Mix (6 years old). Both dogs have hip dysplasia. Our respected Vet recommended that we get Dasuquin Chews. Both dogs have been taking them for 3 months. Symptoms have not gotten worse, so that is a good thing! That is why I rated this product as "Good" at this point in time. The dogs both really like the taste of the chews - they eat them as if they think they are treats! It is much easier giving them a chew then trying to hide a pill in food! My dog was put on the tablet form of this a couple of years ago but got to the point where he wouldn't eat it so I was having to crumble it over his food. I decided to try the chews and called my vet, who wanted almost twice the cost of what this sells for everywhere else. My dog loves the chews and happily eats them every day, making my life much easier! The Dasuquin has helped relieve his pain from arthritis, which he has had for the past couple of years. Dasuquin soft chews
I have been using the dasuquin chewable tablets for two years. My dogs don't usually like to take them without putting them in their food. So I finally bought the soft chews. Now our dogs will take them with or without food. They are more expensive but easier to use. As far as does dasuquin help, I think so. My veterinarian suggested them. We also give them a small dose of pain medication (novox). It's difficult to know how much of a part the dasuquin plays but the dogs seem pain free. Dasuquin Soft Chews
We have been giving this to our dog for years after we noticed him seemingly in pain when he would stand up. After about a week we noticed a marked difference. He is now 15 and still has a spring in his step. We started with one soft chew per day but after a time we reduced it to a half a chew per day. If you have a dog that seems to have joint point I would urge you to try it and see.
