This item indicated that it could be a vase. I put flowers in it and filled it with water. The glass jar was leaking and the velvet bottom came off because it got wet. I had to re glue the velvet bottom. I sent a message to the person that I bought it from and she did not respond. I am very disappointed I bought this for a coworker who was off work due to a surgery.
