The Sony tripod is a small ball mount tripod that is designed for steady shot pictures with either a camcorder or a camera. The Sony table top tripod has a minimum operating height of five inches and a maximum height of seven inches. The legs of the tripod extend and contract to position the camera in the right position. However, the table tripod by Sony is not ideal for primary close shot photographs. The Sony tripod is also useful for those wanting to shoot video from a set position within their home or office. Because of the size of the table tripod by Sony, it would be a great tripod to bring along for travel. The small size ensures that the Sony table top tripod will fit almost anywhere and will not take up a large amount of space in a bag. The 4.6 oz weight of the tripod is less than most SLR bases and will not weigh down the user on long hikes into nature. The Sony tripod is not the tripod to take along when eye level photography is necessary unless there is a platform for the tripod. Indoor photographers will likely get good use out of the Sony tripod.
