This is well done like most of the little weasel Muppets work. I enjoy the documentary's a lot going back to the parks that got me hooked going forward on all of the ken burns films. I just wish I had never seen the tiny little rat kenny burns interview comparing conservatives to hitler and the nazi movement. Litte piece of misguided dung for brains should know better after researching Teddy Roosevelt for one in his first and best work to date. It seems to be so often the case that actors' writers' directors that are so good at telling the story of someone that actually does turn out to be something of a ridiculous human being themselves. Those that can't do teach was the old saying..

I viewed the original broadcast on PBS, however, missed portions. I purchased the set so I could watch completely, thoroughly at my leisure. The film is a thoughtful and honest depiction of baseball's history. There are many detailed photos, quotes, stories from 1840 forward. The origin of baseball is exposed indiscriminately as an American game modified and adapted by Englishmen. The fabric of American history is carefully interwoven within the textures of the game. Characters are described in detail according to their talents and personalities. Flaws and imperfections are fully dissected. Racial issues and Negro baseball as it was, parallels and contributes with the telling of the baseball story. Interviews and reflections with some of the Negro baseball players offer passion and perspective. I enjoy the many newspaper accounts and personal observations. The cinematography and music mesh seamlessly within the film. I especially appreciate the passion for baseball exhibited by the participants in the film. I am proud to be a baseball person and plan to keep passing that special relationship on. This film series will be an important part of that legacy.Read full review
Ken Burns is one of the best modern documentarists and his films are such a pleasure to watch. You're receiving a well-researched education in the form of an entertainment piece. From historic photos and apt musical choices to in-person memories by players of the game and recreations from noted historians, this set has it all.

This is without doubt the most entertaining history of the game that you will ever watch. From the beginnings of the professional sport through the late 20th century, you will hear about all the great players, all the big moments, and even some of the low points that have occurred in baseball. The entire narrative is woven together in a style that captivates, entertains, and enlightens all at once. I recommend Ken Burns Baseball 9-inning series to anyone with an interest in the sport.
