I bought this game because I miss playing it when I was younger around the time when it first came out. I was surprised to see it had become a collector Game and the price increased exponentially. I found this one for a lower price than most competitors and hoped it wasn't a scam. I bought it now and waited about 2 weeks for it arrive and was happy when I finally received the package. It came in a manilla envelope with only the game cart inside. The game cart Wasn't damaged and still had a save on it. I. Decided to continue Rob's Legacy and complete the final 4 for the 18th time which he was saved in the middle of. Highly satisfied. Would recommend.

I bought this game just so I could play soul silver, and when it came in I was excited, but when I insert it into my Dsi it won’t always read the game and will sometimes crash on me. It isnt the Game consoles problem because it reads all my other games just fine

Read the full review as there are problems with the current marketplace for this game and Pokémon HeartGold. The game itself is good. It's an extensive campaign that encompasses both Johto and Kanto, meaning 16 badges total to collect, in addition to many improvements from the original Gold and Silver. The battle system is a little slow for my liking, but for the most part, it works really well and looks good. There's a nice art style to this game's 3D environments and it looks great. Overall, this is a game worth purchasing if you're a Pokémon fan. However, this game is only worth purchasing IF your copy is not a counterfeit. There are multiple, multiple, MULTIPLE listings of counterfeit cartridges. If you want to buy this game, you are going to need to spend a lot of money because these games are rare. They had low print numbers, and knockoff manufacturers know this. They capitalize on demand by producing quick, cheap bootlegs that do not function as intended. For one, they aren't compatible with the Pokewalker, two, they aren't compatible with newer systems or other Pokémon games, as they'll trip the system's counterfeit detection software and they won't be playable, and three, the low build quality leads to freezing, buggy battles, and many more problems. Educate yourself on what copies are counterfeit before you buy. Here are a few tips: 1. This applies to HeartGold, SoulSilver, White, Black, White 2, and Black 2: if the cartridge itself is gray-ish and not black, the game is most likely counterfeit. Those games have IR functionality built into the cartridges. You can tell a real from a fake by shining a light through it. Real cartridges of these games will appear as a blood-red translucent color when a light is shown through them. 2. The font on the label is wrong. All DS cartridges used a standardized font, and any deviations from this are bootleg. 3. The label's picture color is off. Most SoulSilver bootlegs have a bluish label color. Legitimate cartridges have a silver label. 4. There are divots on the sides of the cartridge near the top. DS cartridges are rectangular (except for a small, curved corner at the bottom-right of the cartridge). Any divots indicate a bootleg. 5. If you see the back of the cartridge, the text on the contacts should be white and centered between the grooves. If they're not white or off-centered, it's likely a fake. 6. If the Nintendo logo or The Pokémon Company name are not the same font or design as they normally are, the game is fake. And these Pokémon games should NEVER say "Licensed by Nintendo." There are other red flags you should look out for when buying Pokémon games. It's a pain to have to sort through the bootlegs (especially when their prices look so appealing), but you'll save yourself a lot of headache when the game works perfectly and doesn't break down.Read full review

This is my first review ever and I'm a huge Pokemon fan and pretty bored so I'm going to write one. This game is a remake of the original Pokemon silver for the gameboy color back in 2000. It's pretty much the same, but with better graphics and sound, although there are a few new features. This and Heartgold do have something extremely unique. All 493 Pokemon(now there is 649 this is gen 4) can walk with you throughout the game. This may seem like a minor detail and may even seem pointless, but I found it so fun to just walk around with my Pokemon. I never even use the bike, because it's so fun. Other than all that it is your typical Pokemon game. Get all badges beat Elite 4, but after that you get to go to Kanto. This and Heartgold (and the originals of course) are the only main series games where you can visit more than one region. And for people who want to hear the original music there is and item in the game that does that, but unfortunately can't be obtained until practically the very end. Well, that's pretty much it. Hope you enjoyed this review.Read full review
Pokemon Gold for the original Gameboy was my first introduction to Pokemon and Crystal on Gameboy Color was my first owned game so finding out that they had remakes with improved graphics and even MORE Pokemon to find was a dream come true! Just be careful when buying because there are a LOT of Chinese bootlegs that will NOT work with the Pokewalker (if you have one) that was released with the original Heart Gold and Soul Silver games. All in all, a fantastic game to own and a sheer delight to play! Even more fun to be had is that HG and SS are compatible with the generation 4 Pokemon games Diamond, Pearl and Platinum so you can trade otherwise unobtainable Pokemon from one game to the other! AWESOME!!!

I don’t usually write reviews so I’ll get to the point. If you want a good Pokémon game that delivers content made with passion and love; then look no where else people Pokémon Heartgold and Soulsilver are the second last generation of Pokémon to be made for the fans. As of recent (11/17/20) we have Pokémon Sword and Shield and as an avid Pokémon fan from the 90s; I’d say you will get your money’s worth playing this game over it! 👍🏼 Games value as of this review is about $80-90. Get it now before it goes higher!
