    Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 35-100mm F.28 ii Power O.I.S. Lens

Great image quality. I little bigger than I expected since I have the 35-100 F3.5 lens which is much shorter. This lens is also much heavier than my older lens. I expect to use this primarily indoors and/or outside at night. The older lens is great for day time and it is much lighter and easier to carry around.

  • One of only two you need.

I have come to love my Panasonic GH1. Formerly had Pentax DSLR. My SLR lenses performed very well on micro 4/3 format, I guess because the smaller focal plane is less demanding. Even a "so-so" 35-70mm tele was transformed inot a great long range lens on the Panasonic. However, running everything manually was less awesome. My fav lens: 35-100 f2.8 is great for several reasons: the speed, manual zoom & of course built in OIS. Now I just use two lenses 12-60 and this 35-100. Bodies are so cheap, I have them both mounted. If you can only afford one, I do recommend the less expensive 12-60, and take outdoor tele shots with some mid-range piece of SLR gear, but then save your pennies to get the 35-100 someday. Your mileage may vary: I'm not a pro.

  • Smaller yes, Image Quality YES!

If you are use to Full Frame or APS-C cameras there will be some learning curve but, not too much. As for what some complain about noise...Noise is in everything depending on your knowledge and a myriad of other factors. Learn you Art, learn your camera and a good outcome will result. Very Happy! Below is the same bird...(I pay my models well). On the Left, shot with 80D and Tamron 70-200 G2 On the right, shot with Pana G9 and the 35-100 Lumix GX Vario One is zoomed in a bit closer, minimal editing, and I am new with the Panasonic system. That said, I did everything in Manual and I know I missed a hair on the focus. That said, you have a comparison to perhaps gauge by. A lot of youtube stuff on the 35-100...almost all favorable!

  • Don't hesitate, just buy it!

No matter how many reviews you will read about this lens, it's hard to believe how sharp it is until you see it for yourself! Very, very, impressive! It's not only a great everyday lens, but also an outstanding portrait lens. Don't hesitate, just buy it!

  • Great Lens

Have only used it a couple times but it was in perfect condition when it arrived and the pictures I got of a hawk on my back deck were extremely sharp even wide open. Def recommend this lens so far.
