My hands used to hurt after a long ride, specially on technical trails with lots of steep descents. These grips go a long way towards easing the load on your hands. Comfortable grip, high quality item. Installation is easy. It was a lot harder to remove the previous grips, but with some rubbing alcohol and patience did get them off. These just slide in then you torque it to 5 Nm and you are ready to go. I got the large and they fit my hands very well. I use XL gloves in Shimano, if that helps you size them. When you install them make sure the end cap is all the way in. I didn't and as soon as I got on the bike I could feel some play. Reinstalled them and it was fine. I'm now the proud owner of 2 pairs of these and will most likely buy another. Highly recommended. Sure, you can find cheaper but not better.Read full review

Ergon GP1-S Small grip for use with twists shifters. Package contains right and left grips and Ergon logo decorative end plugs. Aluminum clamping ring is for the 23.8mm grip area diameter, but comes with adapters for use with 22.2mm grip area diameter. Good quality soft rubber, with an aluminum clamping ring tightened by a 5mm hex head cap screw. These grips are very comfortable, supporting the lower palm of your hands while riding. Spreads the weight of your shoulders over a larger area of your palms, easing the shock to your palms from rough roads. Search for the ergon site: Ergon GP-1 to see details of design, construction, and sizing. Large, Small, and Rohloff/Nexus (left Large, Right small) refers to the grip length, not the padded area.

These grips are really the best of both worlds. Coming from the road a couple months ago as well as having arthritic hands I wasn't used to having my hands in one position for hrs on end. However I did get used to the handling my straight grips gave me. Ergon really killed two birds with one stone for me. The relief of not having one tendon smashed for 2-3 hrs every ride is amazing and the handling with these grips is every bit as good as my old ones. I'm glad I didn't cheap out and go with the budget brand and I paid $5 less then the bike shop 50 mi. away from my home!

All in all very comfortable grips. i put them on an old mountain bike that I will be converting for around tow use. I cut the grips down so that the shifters and hand pads would actually fit my hands. No big deal really, I cut most of my grips for this reason. These were longer than i expected though. The actual grip portion with the ergo pad is plenty big for a small. I wear mens large gloves and I don't think i would see the need in going up a size.

Excellent grips! This is my second set. Have been using them for four years now. Most of my friends are using them also. Very comfortable. No more hands going to sleep.
