While it's true that playstation and saturn have more characters, the N64 version has no load times (including during fatalities) and the game feels more responsive. If you are going to buy only one of the classic MKs, buy this one.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy for the Nintendo 64 is a good game, picture is blurry sound is muffled this is normal for the 64. That aside it's a good game, 3 on 3 Kombat, female chameleon introduced in this version. Overall it's a 6.5/10 PlayStation Mortal Kombat Trilogy is much better a 8.5/10

IGN's editors didn't have much good things to say about MK Trilogy a decade ago when the game was originally released. However, I highly recommend this game over any other dated Mortal Kombat title for the classic gamer. If you've been looking to get you're old school Mortal Kombat fix, this is probably the best place to find it. Features 26 playable characters (and 2 unlockables), each with his or her own combos, special moves, and of course fatalities. Playing head-to-head against your friends is much, MUCH more enjoyable than the single player mode. A moves list, easily found at gamefaqs or any other faq-site, is highly recommended and will no doubt enhance your enjoyment of the game. To adjust the fight-options, enter this code while the story is scrolling across the screen during the opening: B, CL, CU, CR, CD, A, B,B,B, A,A. After successfully entering the code, you will hear a voice say something like, "ahwha". Then press up and start together to open the options menu with new options that will allow you to unlock Human Smoke and Khameleon, enable unlimited runs, and disable the fight time limit as well as the fatality time limit. Once it's time to start fighting, if you're playing with other people, 3-on-3 is the place to go. Keep the moves list close, pick a wide array of fighters, and watch the language. Have fun with this one. Reader's Ratings for Mortal Kombat Trilogy (N64)Read full review
everything is perfect it is well worth buying it i was also impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive game. It has a the bomb . The games size is perfect for me and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 30 characters. My only complaint is that the menu system on the game makes you click before you can find someone in the character list so you have to be fast, set an fight, or enter the tournament. Other video games I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the game if you're mk lover.
I bought mk trilogy because I didn't get to play this game as a kid. I had always known that this game combines all the different Mortal Kombat characters. This is a classic franchise that was really big in its day and is still fun to play today specially two players. The only thing that I dislike about this product is the fact that it's hard to find someone who knows how to play these days compared to the time when it was released. So good luck finding a worthy opponent to keep you company :) Compared to other Mortal Kombat games this one is probably the best
