Bought one at great price, just cuz I thought it looked cool, & is way cheaper than a Gibson! Turns out, it's EXTREMELY well made & plays fantastic. And I love love love the 50's Gibson neck profile - that's really the only Gibson neck that works for my long, gangly fingers. However, after seeing myself in the mirror with it hanging around my neck, I'm not sure I'm brave enough to take the stage with it, playing in cajun/zydeco/New Orleans boogie bands! But I do love playing it, & the Korina looks beautiful.
Great guitar for a great price, I couldn't be happier. This is a superior epiphone, made very well. Great base guitar to MOD to your liking. I made this one my own. Almost done with it.

Until buying an Explorer of my own, I couldn't create those tones that Allen Collens got on Freebird, etc. Well, now I know: it's impossible without an Explorer. Now...it's dead on. The exact same indescribably strange and beautiful lead tones that won't happen on a Les Paul, SG or any other Gibson. The sound is unique unto itself and only achieved on an Explorer. I love this guitar. Everything about it. Had I known, I'd have bought one when I was a kid and could have used it to its full potential in my band. Those days are long gone but already it's shot to the top 3 in my collection of electronic guitars. If you've been thinking about buying one, don't hesitate. The playability, looks and above all, the sound are second to none. 5 big fat stars!

Mine had NO sustain at all. upon disassembly, I discovered that the pickups were NOT humbuckers; But had a single coil under a humbucker cover. Finish is POLYURATHANE, NOT NITRO...Plastic coated guitars dont sustain or sound good but they ARE SHINY. I routed out a cavity in the back and put a clock in there. It's a much better clock than guitar.
