Shinobi 2 is a must-own for fans of the Genesis. The double jumps are a pain getting used to, but once you learn how to do them it's like a second nature. Great game, and even better depending on which version you own. Some earlier copies allow you to fight Rambo, the Terminator, Batman, Spider-Man and yes, even Godzilla himself. While other have most of this content removed.

Awesome but classical game for the Sega Genesis console from Sega. The game came in great condition, instruction manual and game cart was included. Game was already clean for use and worked flawlessly on my Sega Megadrive II system. Thank you much for making this game available for purchase :)

Absolutely hands down this is one of the top ten best Sega Genesis games ever made. Excellent graphics and sound, excellent music by Yuzo Koshiro, 24 nicely designed long levels with super detailed backgrounds and enemy characters. Challenging stages and end bosses, and even 2 different endings depending on if you save the girl during the final battle. If you own a Sega Genesis, you basically have this game, if not, your missing out. Thankfully, it was a huge success and sold very well and so as a result the cartridges can be obtained for little cash. The other two Shinobi games available for the Sega Genesis are also very good games, especially Shinobi 3 Ninja Master (which is actually the direct sequel to this game) but this one is the best of the three.
Every once in awhile, you will play a game that will seem like perfection. All the pieces that make a game just seem to fit perfectly. Revenge of Shinobi is one of those games to me. Until I got this game, I was doubting if I made the right decision to get a Genesis instead of an SNES. Revenge of Shinobi put all those doubts to rest. For an early generation 16-bit title, Revenge of Shinobi was years ahead of its time. The graphics displayed an impressive array of the Genesis capabilities with the well drawn characters to the dynamic and beautiful backgrounds. The sound effects are fantastic and the soundtrack is one of the best for any 16-bit title. Typically, games that have impressive graphics and sound fail to emulate great gameplay. Thankfully, Revenge of Shinobi is very well rounded in all aspects. The controls are tight and responsive. There do tend to be a couple of places in the game that can be frustrating because of the controls, but it isn't bad enough to chuck the game across the room. Revenge is challenging and will take an average player a good while before completing it. I have played many games over the years on many different systems. Even after all these years and evolving game technology, Revenge of Shinobi still impresses me. I may be a bit bias because I love the Genesis, but fellow 16-bit aficionados will see Revenge of Shinobi as a timeless classic and if they don't, they should.Read full review
For a Genesis launch title the graphics and sound are not bad at all. The music is excellent since Yuzo Koshiro composed it. He is most known for his amazing work on the beat'em up Streets of Rage on Genesis and Actraiser on SNES. However the most important parts of the game being the controls and overall fun factor are just plain frustrating to the point of needing anger management classes. Very unresponsive controls plague this game especially when timing the double jump in mid air. I do not mind a good challenge but getting lucky with poor controls is another story. As many times as I go back to this game I still end up loathing it more than loving it. I prefer Shinobi 3: Revenge of the Ninja Master to this game any day.
