About this product

Product Information

Arising from the same unholy concoction as its immediate predecessor in the series, Resident Evil 5 looks like a third-person shooter, plays like a first-person shooter, and feels like a survival-horror game. As in the acclaimed Resident Evil 4, an up-close, over-the-shoulder perspective allows players to see the heroes in action. Accessible aiming controls and fluid graphics make for quick, intuitive weapon use. Creepy settings, un-human enemies, and keen pacing create experiences of tense exploration, startling surprise, and overwhelmingly outnumbered desperation. The first in the Resident Evil series designed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the game presents its horrors in high-definition, built on a custom-enhanced version of Capcom's MT Framework game engine.

The story takes place in Africa, in the fictional desert country of Kijuju. The game is set about a ten years after the events of the original Resident Evil, and features the original game's character Chris Redfield in the lead role. He is accompanied by a skilled mercenary named Sheva Alomar. The two make a good team, and many of the most challenging situations in the game are best overcome with teamwork. When one of the two characters has been subdued or wounded, the other can "help" or "heal" with the press of a button. Other circumstances call for particular solutions, such as one player drawing enemies out of cover while the other picks them off with rifle shots from a safer location.

Both characters are agents of a international group known as the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (or BSAA), on a mission to investigate the origins of the nefarious Tyrant virus, variants of which have been responsible for turning ordinary people and animals into mindless, zombie-like killing machines throughout the Resident Evil series. The game's levels are a mix of spooky, scripted runs and open-ended battles that develop dynamically. Although facing surprise attacks and overwhelming odds, a run-and-gun approach won't last; it takes situational tactics and good ammo management to make it through each stage. Online multiplayer co-op is available throughout the game, in which one player controls Chris and the other controls Sheva.

In addition to the game disc and manual, the Collectors' Edition of Resident Evil 5 includes a steel disc box and an additional disc of bonus content, a necklace in the shape of Kijuju, a BSAA patch, a Chris Redfield figurine, and a cloth messenger bag.

  • Resident evil 5 Collector's edition review & Resident Evil 5 revie

Resident Evil 5 Collectors Edition is not the best Collectors edition of a video game. By that I mean If you buy it new it includes a Chris Redfield toy that looks nothing like him, a neclace of Africa, a B.S.A.A. patch, and the game in a pretty cool tin case that includes a bonus DVD. Now the game is the same version as the standard edition. And the DVD is alright it has a making of and has the cast doing motion capture and a little retrospective on the series thus far. I only reccomend this version if you are a diehard R.E fan otherwise just get the standard edition. With that said RE5 is an extremely fun game. It starts out with Chris Redfield a number of years after the events of the first game. struggling to deal with the death of his longtime partner. On his way to Africa to meet up ...

  • Fun game to play with a friend + cool CE contents

SHORT VERSION - Only buy this game if you have a friend to play it with or you really want the CE contents, which are quite good. Full review below. First I'll discuss the contents of the CE. Here's what you get: - Tricell messenger bag - a little small but still cool - Chris Redfield action figure - VERY small but looks good on a desk or something - RE5 Laser Cel - cool looking high res image. Don't know how "limited" it is - Kijuju necklace - A necklace shaped like Africa - BSAA patch - cool if you have something to put patches on - Steelbook case - Nice looking case, but the disc is sort of hard to take out - Bonus DVD - your standard bonus items Overall, it's a pretty nice collector's edition, with some good stuff for your desk or shelf. Next, the gameplay. Man, is it bad on solo. ...

  • Resident Evil 5 is a must have for this console

Graphics: Excellent 9.0/10 Sound: Excellent 9.0/10 Gameplay: Very Good 7.5/10 Replay: Great 8.5/10 Overall: Great 8.5/10 Note to the reader: I have been playing the Resident Evil Series since it’s introduction on the Playstation One. Graphics: Excellent 9.0/10 The graphics are excellent, the cut-scenes and in-game graphics are seamless, and this is as good as Capcom has done for this series. The shadows, lighting effects, and motions are great, and really immerse you into the game. The zombies, the backgrounds, and environments are detailed, rich, and engrossing. Sound: Average – 9.0/10 The thing that Capcom has always nailed in this series is the sound, and this game is no exception. The sounds of the groans, the ...

  • Good game, not like the traditional Resident evil games, but still good.

Resident evil has always been a zombie shooter series. All the way back to the old playstation titles, Resident Evil has always been a solid game. However with the introduction of Resident Evil 4 and now 5, they have gone away from zombies to a less "horror" title to more of a generic "bad guy" shooter. No longer do you kill hordes of relentless zombies and their mutated counterparts, but now you fight against regular people, who have gone crazy, to sum it up. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't ruin the game, but it does leave something more to be desired. The third person over the shoulder shooting style is done very well, however there are some parts where the character image takes up too much of the screen, leaving it damn near impossible to see what you're shooting at, let alone where ...
