I wasn't able to get this guy years ago when he first came out as a kid. But now, years later, I finally found him as getting him brand new was a bit of a challenge. He's a good build and the comic booklet he came with shows he's a product of 2003, but I still like it. In the end, I'd recommend it to a LEGO collector looking for some nostalgia.

I bought this to relive my childhood of building Bionicle figures and fighting against my friends with them. Back when Lego first started manufacturing the Bionicle line starting with the Toa Mata and the Bohrok, the toys were aimed for playing with others to achieve the goal of hitting the other player's mask or krana off. They were functional toys meant to be played for competitive matches just like Beyblade or B-Daman. The toys progressively became more and more like action figures with the introduction of Metru Nui, and they had become more like buildable action figures than buildable fighting bots. I still bought them, but I eventually stopped once I felt their product line had lost the charm which made the original toys so enjoyable. Classic Bionicle is best.
My son loves these toys. It's easy to put together and they stay together really well.
