This is an excellent and informative book describing the history of Pablo Picasso's most famous painting, "Guernica." The painting and people's perceptions of it has shaped world history up to the present day. The author happened to be in a museum observing the painting on September 11, 2001 when thousands of innocent civilians were murdered by terrorists. The fascist bombing of a non-military town in Spain in 1937 mirrored current events all too plainly. Hopefully we can all learn from the horrors of war depicted so well in "Guernica." My only criticism of the book is the lack of other illustrations showing the artist and the work leading up to the final version of the painting. I would highly recommend the book to anyone who is interested in art and how it can play a role in history.Read full review
