About this product

Product Information

John Wayne is Jacob McCandles, an aging cowboy in an Old West that is on the verge of modernization. When his eight-year-old grandson is kidnapped by a violent gang led by the evil John Fain (Richard Boone), Jacob's estranged wife (Maureen O' Hara) enlists his help to rescue the boy. Jacob and his three sons (one of whom is portrayed by Wayne's real-life son Patrick) set out to bring the gang to justice. This late-period Wayne western is characterized by a gritty realism not present in most of his earlier works. The surprisingly graphic violence is also tempered with abundant humor.

    Big Jake is one of the classics for entire family

    I am a big fan of John Wayne and enjoy his clean family movies. My Grandchildren also enjoy his movies. It showed my Grandchildren just how far you will go to protect them with your love.

    What can you say? It's John Wayne in one of his classic roles. If you're a western/cowboy fan, "Big Jake" is a must to see and to own. Enough said.

    Great movie! Could watch it over aand over again, and have. Love John Wayne in anything he played in. Can't go wrong with any of his movies.

    I was quite satisfied with the condition of the VHS video. I purchased it as a gift for my grandson and his grandfather. They both love John Wayne.
